Radio personality Gary Spears is back on the air on The all-new 104.3 FM, “K-HITS in Chicago, IL starting March 21, 2011.
On his personal Facebook account Gary Spears wrote “Hi all. Thought I’d let you know that I’ll be back on air in Chicago on 3/21/11 on K-HITS 104.3!! Looking forward to hooking up with old friends and doing some fun radio with Todd Cavanah, Eddie and Jobo and BO and Buddy Scott in the house too! Thanks to Louis Kaplan (GREAT guy) who put me on air here in Ft. Myers on The River for the last few weeks!!”

On March 10, 2011 104.3 FM, “K-HITS reported on their website http://khitschicago.radio.com stating “The all-new 104.3 FM, “K-HITS,” will combine Chicago’s greatest hit music of the 60′s, 70′s & 80′s with personalities that are synonymous with the Windy City including Eddie and Jobo, Gary Spears and Bo Reynolds, among others.” They concluded “Gary Spears, one of the original B96 Hot Hits jocks from 1982-84, follows as host of middays (10:00AM-3:00PM). Spears also could be heard on B96 from 1990-94.”

“This is going to be an exciting time in Chicago radio with this new format that is taking off as baby boomers reach the golden years.” said Gary Spears, On Air Radio Personality.

Also RadioInsight.com reported on 3-10-2011 that “Spears was at B96 from 1982 to 1984 and again from 1990 to 1994. He is best known for his run in middays at KIIS-FM Los Angeles.”
